Our Staff
Our staff at Laguna Eyes Optometry is well trained and focused on making your patient experience a personal one. All members of our staff attend continuing education classes throughout the year in areas of spectacle lenses, contact lenses and eyewear design.
The office culture at Laguna Eyes Optometry is one of excellence in
patient care and personalized service. We believe and practice doing the right thing to make
your experience a good one with long lasting happiness, eye health and optimal vision.
Sasha has been an optician/ophthalmic
assistant for over 30 years. She has been the head optician/technician
and optical office manager at Laguna Eyes Optometry since 2001. With
her infectious laugh, she is a favorite with many of our patients. She
seems to know the perfect frame for each individual. She also enjoys
working with contact lens patients and manages the insurance billing.
She has a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Chapman College. Her initial
desire was to work in research; but found out, to her surprise, that she
preferred working with patients more than in the lab! She has also been
certified by the American Board of Opticians and the Contact Lens
Association of Ophthalmologists. She enjoys spending time with her
family, hiking, and reading in her free time.
Jennifer has been an optician/technician with Laguna Eyes Optometry since 1993. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from UC Riverside and has been involved in the Laguna Beach business community since 1985. Having served in almost every capacity in the office for over 17 years, she still thoroughly enjoys that moment when she places the perfect frame on a patient's face. "Having so many wonderful, long term relationships with so many patients makes Laguna Eyes Optometry a truly great place to be!" Jennifer and her husband live in Laguna with their two children.
Stevie has been in the optical field for five years. She has been our contact lens specialist for the last three years at Laguna Eyes Optometry. Her responsibilities include training our new contact lens patients, ordering all of the lenses, and managing our daily book-keeping. She enjoys cooking, music, and spending time with friends and family.
Joe is back with us
after spending 5 years in New Mexico. He has returned to run our
optical shop and laboratory. He loves helping patients select designer
frames and making sure that they have the right style of lens for their
many needs. He has worked in the optical field for over 18 years.
Before becoming an optician, he danced professionally, including on a TV
show (Nia Peeple’s Party Machine) for 18 months. He still loves to
dance and enjoys spending time with his family.
Sylvia is another one of our cheery voices that greets patients on the phone and when they come through our office door. She emigrated from England in 1983 and has lived in New York and California. She worked in the medical field for 10 years before joining us in 2009. She enjoys being an avid fan of the Angels and the Trojans with her family.
Linda
has been a part of Laguna Eyes Optometry since its beginning. She is an American Board of Opticians Certified optician and holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from UC Berkeley. She has contributed to the development of the practice with her varied talents, including the design of all of our office spaces. She is currently semi-retired; but still is the fashion frame buyer and financial manager. If you are lucky, you can catch her in the office helping patients with their frame selections a few hours a week. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, in Kauai and gardening. Ann is our resident recall expert. She is the lovely voice behind the calls that remind you to come in for your evaluations. She has been a part of the LEO team for over 15 years.
